Ro and I were going to try to get the K-1, then we didn’t have patience and didn’t want to be away from eachother. So we married in Chile and because I am his wife now I can get a temp visa whenever I want…. If you decide to drop the K-1 you can go to Chile, have the civil wedding you wanted and file for the visa. After you have permanent residence.. I think a year and a few months later, you and L can go to the US Embassy and file for the K-3 visa… from what I have heard, this takes 2 weeks, is cheaper and way faster than the K-1….
