I have struggled with this penlsraoly as well. I have 3 boys and my kids were all too curious about why I wouldn't let them drink the juice when any other time I would let them drink out of my cup with other liquids. I explained that it was a grown up drink and didn't help little kids grow big and strong. I also decided to poor the alcohol into a different glass so they couldn't see the label. On occasion, I would buy them the non-alcoholic fizzing grape juice and they, of course, thought that was big stuff. I think it's a personal preference and it's your business. Personally, I don't think it is harmful as long as you drink responsibly and have limitations. You as a parent know what they are. If you feel wrong about it, then do it after they go to bed.

I am glad you blogged about this. I've never been naked in front of othres except at doctor's offices and so on but my philosophy has always been that there is nothing wrong with being naked as long as othres consent, which is obviously true at a nude beach. However, philosophy and emotional reality are sometimes two different things so while I think I would be fine at a nude beach and I have been in a couple of situations where there are naked people around me, I don't know for certain how I would feel there. I think it would be liberating not to have to worry about clothing. It's interesting to read your views about your experiences.

I'm not a parent, for so many reonass, but I would say two things:1) It's not wrong to do this, and in fact as she gets older it can become a great learning experience for her. My best friend was raised by a couple of wine aficionados, and she was taught from an early age that wines (and other alcohols) are something that should be *enjoyed*, and not merely slurped down in large amounts for the sake of intoxication.2) I would start now and point out that you are not drinking juice. Just like they say you're not ever supposed to refer to pills as candy to a child, lest the kids decide to consume more than they really should. It'd be up to you and mommy to decide if she should be allowed to sample the wine and see for herself that it's not juice. (Just from personal experience: if you're drinking red wine, I suspect one sip would be all it takes to keep her off the stuff for a good while yet.
